Every fall before winter rolls into Denver I make a thorough check of my fuel lines to make sure none are looking dry-rotted or in need of replacement. As per usual I did my check and everything seemed kosher back in teh fall. I usually check sporadically throughout the winter as well just to make sure, and its a good thing. I woke up early one morning, on my way out to campus for an early class. Started the Z up and instantly noticed an extremely strong fuel smell. Immediately shut the car off and popped the hood. To my suprise I have a geyser of fuel now flowing out of one of my fuel lines. The culprit was the short (2inch) line underneath the dampner or regulator (cant remember which, drivers side of engine), last line going into the fuel rail. It obviously looked cracked, split or whatever, basically it wasnt doing it job anymore. Heres the pic of the culprit, Needless to say after a quick call to Tim (woody75) to verify the fuel line size needed, this little bastard was replaced. and I picked up some new hose clamps while I was in there. Whats strange is all of the engine fuel lines were replaced at the same time -- in the summer. But this is the only line that looks this bad and the only one thats failed. (rest are replaced now too)
